We run art clubs throughout the year for children from Year 1 to Year 4, these are always veruy popular. The children produce work that is displayed across the school. Athletics In the summer term we offer athletics clubs to children from Year 2 upwards. Years 4-6 compete in the annual Horsham District Sports at Broadbridge Heath and last year our Year 2s took part in a ‘virtual’ athletics competition. Basketball Basketball club runs in the autumn term for children in Years 5&6, we enter teams into the Horsham League with events taking place in Henfield and at Collyers. Choir Choir runs all year round for children from Year 3 upwards. One of our major events of the year is the Choir trip to the O2 to take part in the annual Young Voices concert. The choir also perform to parents in our festive Candleit Concert at the end of the autumn term. Community Action Our Community Action group take an interest in local, national and international issues. They raise money for charity, organise events at school and meet with community interest groups. Coding We have run coding clubs for our Year 4-6 children for some years, however this has now expanded to the younger children who are now able to attend their own coding club in Year 2&3. These clubs take place in our well equipped IT Suite. Cooking Cooking club operates for Year 3 children, giving them the opportunity to learn some basic cooking skills with simple recipes. Cricket We offer cricket during the summer term for Years 3 upwards, entering local competitions held at Horsham Cricket Club and other local venues. Dance Dance is offered in a variety of guises. We have Country Dancing for the younger children who work towards their performance at the Horsham Country Dancing Festival in Horsham Park. We run an Irish Dancing Club who put on an end of term performance to parents. Contemporary dance is taught in club sessions for Years 2&3 and Years 5&6 which culminates in performances in the Horsham Dance Festival at the Capitol. Dice, Cards & Dominoes Very popular with lovers of board games and other table-top activities. |
Drama
Another very popular club. The children enjoy acting and directing and put on performances to parents at the end of the autumn and summer terms. Football Club Ever popular with both boys and girls, football club is offered in the autumn and spring terms to children from Year 3 upwards. We enter teams into the local league and cup competitions. Gardening Gardening clubs is one of our most popular extra curricular activities. The children spend time learning about growing plants as well as getting their hands dirty themselves. The results can be seen in some of the beautiful beds and borders around the school and we have recently won our category in the Horsham in Bloom competition. This summer we also had a bumper harvest of tomatoes, strawberries and other produce. Hockey Club Hockey is offered to Years 5&6 in the autimn and spring terms. We enter teams in the Horsham League which takes place on the astroturf at Tanbridge House School. Musical Theatre A relatively new addition to our after school club offer, this session see children from Years 2&3 sing and dance to their favourite hit musicals. Multi Skills A club for the younger children, which introduces them to a wide variety of sports, games and physical activities. Netball Boys and girls from Years 5&6 take part in Netball club with teams competing in the Horsham Leagues. Recorder Club Our Year 3 children begin to learn to play the recorder during school time, this clubs offers Year 4 children to further develop their skills with this instrument. Rounders Offered during the summer term to Years 5&6 culminating in the Horsham Schools Tournament Stoolball Offered in the summer term, we enter a team in the Horsham Schools Tournament at Horsham Cricket Club Table Tennis This is offered as a lunchtime clubs for Years 4-6. We enter a number of teams in the Horsham Schools Table Tennis League which takes place at Collyers in the spring term. Our extra curricular clubs are subject to change from term to term, other clubs currently on offer include: Tag Rugby, Team Games, History Club and Young Interpreters |
