As always, it’s been a busy year with so many fantastic events and opportunities for our children. I remain immensely proud of the achievements of every child and every member of staff. I am fortunate that I get to visit every classroom, every day and it is our day-to-day focus on high expectations, a wide and varied curriculum and on kindness that shines through. It really is lovely to be back and as always we have a jam-packed term ahead. It’s not just the children who learn at Kingslea but all of us, adults included, see ourselves as learners. As always it’s been a busy term. Parents Evening, the reading workshop, 3L swimming at The Pavilions, Year 4 learning the ukulele, the sporting events going on, two dance clubs preparing for the dance festival, the Pancake Café, Year 6 preparing for the music festival, a visit from two local figures—The Gruffalo and Jeremy Quin MP, one of whom Reception have been searching for for a while, Year 1 acting out the Great Fire of London with the fabulous Rainbow Theatre and Year 3 visiting Wakehurst Place, these are just a few of the things that have gone on at school. Thank you all for a great start to the term. We’ve been very impressed with punctuality, attendance, how well the children have settled into their new year groups and how enthusiastic the children are about their learning. My office has had a constant flow of children coming to show me their work. One of the highlights of my day is walking around the school, popping into classrooms to see the quality of teaching, the high expectations in place and the children engaged.
