Dear Parents, As we move into the last four weeks of term, I’d like to say thank you to all of you who attended the Days of Art, supported the scootering days and gave us feedback about how much your child has enjoyed the Lego sessions, Lasertag and about their general excitement around all the other events coming up. We are very much looking forward to seeing you virtually at parents’ evenings and in-person sports days. Please click for more details Dear Parents, I have written previously that we have been very conscious that the children have missed out on numerous experiences over the last 18 months. ’Catch-up’ isn’t just about the academic, but is also about the wider curriculum. I have identified the most common key words that came up in the thoughts that you submitted.
Please click for more details. Dear Parents/Carers, Thank you all for a very positive first few weeks of term. As we progress through the term, we are carefully reviewing the Covid control measures we have in place and making decisions as to what we can relax and what needs to stay in place. We do this on a week by week basis. So far we have removed rows from classrooms; we initially did this with Y2/3/4 and, after a successful couple of weeks, we are now removing rows in Y5/6. Although the children and teachers have done well in rows, group tables are so much more conducive to discussion, group work and supporting one another.
Please click for more details Dear Parents/Carers, As I’ve previously said, it has been a fantastic start to the term. Thanks to your hard work, the children have returned socially, emotionally and academically in a good place. It is obvious that they want to be here, with their teachers and with their friends, they are enjoying the routine and structure of school, and they are really engaging with their learning in such a positive way.

Well, what can we say? A few things actually… We can say how well the children have settled back into school life. We can say how much the children have enjoyed being back at school. We can say how happy the children are to be with their friends. We can say how pleased the teachers are to have the children back in school. We can say how impressed we are with how much the children have learnt at home. We can say how impressed we are with you and how hard you worked with your child. We can say how impressed we are with how you prepared your child for their return to school. We can say don’t get caught up in any doom and gloom of cheap terms like ’catch-up’ and ’lost generation’. Thank you all for ensuring such a high level of engagement from children this week. We continued to be so, so impressed with the routines and structures that you have put in at home to ensure that children are watching the videos, completing the learning (and what a fantastic standard we have had from so many children) and taking part in the assemblies and small group sessions.
